In addition to tutoring, Laryssa Wirstiuk teaches creative writing at Rutgers University and basic writing skills at community colleges throughout northern New Jersey. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at University of Maryland College Park, where she won honorable mention in the Katherine Anne Porter Prize for Fiction. At Loyola University Maryland, where she earned her Bachelors of Art in Writing, Laryssa won honors like the Writing Medal and Junior Achievement in Writing.
Professionally, she has ghost-blogged for the real estate, entertainment, travel, and technology industries. She is a contributing food writer for the Jersey City Independent and NEW Magazine, and her book reviews have been published by The Rumpus and Rattle. In her spare time, she writes short stories.
